Antique and rare "Lourdes Madonna"; late 19th century. The statue is made of bisque porcelain; it depicts the praying Virgin Mary at her first Marian apparition in Lourdes with the typical blue ribbon; the Lourdes Virgin Mary was a Marian apparition in a French grotto; she appeared to the 14-year-old Bernadette Soubirous on 11 February 1858; the statue is stamped and numbered "GERMANY 8632" and was produced after her apparition for devotion and the attainment of piety; the porcelain figure is hand-painted (colours and gold paint), slight colour defects and slightly rubbed; traces according to age and use; masurement: approx. 23 cm high;
