Beaker (glass mug) with black solder painting or grisaille technique from the Historicism period (1890 - 1910); the glass is made after an 18th century pattern; hand painted - modern interpretation of the dragon slayer - Probably an approximation of the "St. George and The Dragon" illustration from the book "English Illustrated Magazine" 1886. George and The Dragon" illustration from the book "English Illustrated Magazine" 1886; the illustration shows a mounted dragon slayer, in panoramic landscape, about to thrust the spear into the dragon's maw; the workshop and artist are unfortunately unknown; at the bottom one feels a slight break, probably mouth-blown; the stand is decorated with a delicate floral décor engraving and gold-coloured rim above, the rim of the cup is also painted gold; not signed; the glass cup is in good condition and has no noticeable chipping; a great work of art for collectors of old glass; traces according to age and use; dimensions: the glass is about 1,2 mm thick - 10,5 cm high and has a diameter of approx. 7.5 cm / weight approx. 100 g
