Filigree Hamsa pendant in the shape of a drop; silver - not hallmarked and not tested; "Fatima's hand (Hamsa)" is worked into the centre; 4 small movable silver drops in the lower area; mid-20th century. Century; the hand symbol with the eye is a very old, spiritual and powerful protective symbol from Islam and serves as a defence in the fight against spirits and the evil eye; Fatima was the youngest daughter of the prophet Mohammed and is worshipped as a protective goddess; in Islam it is said that the hand of Fatima unfolds its effect most strongly when it is worn as close to the body as possible, which is why Hamsa jewellery is still very popular today; dimensions: 4.5 x 7.5 cm; weight: 12.4 g; the solder joint has opened in one place; traces of use according to age (see pictures)
