Products description

Lot of documents from the estate of the German philologist "Eduard Lisco" (1879 - 1941), Eduard Lisco researched for years (beginning of the 20th century) as a genealogist (family researcher) about the Neander family. Eduard Lisco researched for years (at the beginning of the 20th century) as a genealogist (family researcher) about the family tree and their affiliations of the Neander family (this is confirmed by a letter to the Neander grandchildren, signed by Eduard Lisco); according to Lisco's biography, there is a family affiliation of the Lisco and Neander, as he writes about the ancestors of his grandfather and great-grandfather as well (in 1849, the son married the daughter of the General Superintendent Daniel Amadeus Neander); after Lisco's death, the book author Erich Flicke presumably took over, taking care of the Neander family and their grave until the 1960s;

The Neander family became known as "Daniel Amadeus Neander 1775 - 1869"; Daniel Neander was a theologian, general superintendent and in the first half of the 19th century attained the title of "Provost of the St.- Neander's most famous writing is a sermon commissioned by the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III, which he delivered on 4 July 1816 to commemorate the victims of the wars of liberation. In addition, Daniel Amadeus Neander was an influential confidant of the king and one of his privy councillors; in 1828 Neander founded the Neander Foundation (Neander'scher Krankenverein) with the purpose of supporting sick theology students; from 1823 to 1865 Daniel Amadeus Neander was provost of St. Peter's Church (Berlin-Cologne), at that time the highest-ranking Protestant clergyman in Berlin;
