Oil painting on wood by André Collin (1875 Paris - 1930 Brussels); in gold stucco frame with artist plaque, signed “A. Collin "; the picture shows a pub scene; a guest ensnares the pretty landlady, in the background an elderly gentleman watching the scene; on the back notes in pencil “2/26; Andre Collin was trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels under Jean-François Portaels and Paris at the Lefèbvre studio; he took part in the famous Godecharle competition in 1884 and took second place; André Collin exhibited regularly in the Brussels galleries and was known for his beautiful landscapes and interior scenes and in his later phase with genre themes and people from everyday life; minimal lack of paint; traces of use according to age; measurements: total H * W 40 * 34cm
