Products description

Collection of snuff bottles (6 pieces - tobacco glass bottles); some rare and elaborately crafted variants; Southern Germany – Austria, second half of the 20th century (1960s–1990s). These magnificent collector’s bottles are also known as Schmalzlerglasl, Brasilflaschl, Prisenflasche, Bixl, or Tabakbüchsl. The bottles were produced using various glass art techniques, with some being intricately hand-painted. The collection includes a bottle from the Weinfurtner Glass Manufactory and a small bottle from the Helga Ruckerbauer Workshop. Two bottles with stoppers, two bottles with traditional folk painting (hand-painted), and one Murano-style bottle with a blue/white ribbon pattern. All bottles are in good condition with age-related wear. Dimensions: largest bottle approx. 8.5 x 15 x 2.7 cm, smallest bottle approx. 7 x 10 x 2.7 cm. Snuff bottles have existed since the 17th century and are still crafted today by artists and master glassmakers in a variety of designs for collectors and tobacco enjoyment.
