Very rare Nibelungen photo book from the 19th century

Very rare Nibelungen photo book from the 19th century; with 14 albumen prints from Richard Wagner’s "The Ring of the Nibelung"; based on the scenic designs by Joseph Hoffmann; this edition contains 14 albumen photos mounted on cardboard; the stage set photographs were taken by the famous Austrian photographer Viktor Angerer after designs by Joseph Hoffmann; published by Hoffmann, Vienna, 1876; green, gold-embossed book cover in a very elaborate design; first edition; the book contains 14 photographic representations of stage set designs by V. Angerer, for the premiere of Richard Wagner's "The Ring of the Nibelung" in Bayreuth, 1876; dedicated with the deepest respect to His Majesty King Ludwig II of Bavaria; the book includes an introduction to the play by Richard Wagner, 14 antique albumen prints, and brief excerpts from the performance of the Nibelungen (Rhinegold, Nibelheim, Valhalla, Hunding's Hall, mountain pass, Valkyrie rock, etc.); the introductory pages are slightly yellowed, the cardboard slightly finger-stained; the rest of the book is in good condition and extremely rare; signs of use corresponding to its age; dimensions: approx. 30 x 41 cm.
