Products description
Antique microscopic specimens with 50 glass slides, all thoroughly labeled and stored in five storage boxes. Some specimens are from the company "PHYWE," while others appear to be older, featuring handwritten notes, likely from private collections. This fascinating scientific collection from the first half of the 20th century (1920–1940) includes a variety of specimens such as human bone, spinnerets of the European garden spider, pin mold, hay bacillus, bacteria, Desmidiaceae algae, artistic microforms, plankton, single-celled organisms, fungi, lichens, and more. Since its founding in 1913 by Dr. Gotthelf Leimbach, Phywe has grown into a leading provider of educational materials for science instruction. Headquartered in Göttingen, the company remains one of the world’s key manufacturers of teaching equipment for schools and universities. The production of chemistry teaching materials began in 1919, followed by biological teaching aids in 1921. The specimens have not been tested. One slide is broken. Age-appropriate signs of use (see photos). Box dimensions: approx. 6.5 x 9 x 3 cm.
