Very rare Sasanian clay bull (Sasanian bullae); 3 - 7 centuries AD; 5 seal impressions in different sizes; central embossing with inscription; Blessing in Pahlavi / Middle Persian: "Trust in the gods", an indication that some seals in the oriental cultures also had the character of amulets and that they were assigned a damage-preventing function; probably from a Zoroastrian owner (priest or official); on the back a note confirming this translation; on the central imprint a monogram (tamga) with a wing, presumably by a Sassanid official or priest; the small prints come from witnesses who were present when the contract was signed; these clay bulls were attached to documents and contracts with the help of a string; signs of wear corresponding to the age; Dimensions: approx. 3.6 x 3.9 x 1.8 cm
