Islamic wall hanging with historical motif

Islamic wall hanging with historical motif; first half of the 20th century; woven and provided with crochet borders that were probably added later; elaborately worked and with a pictorial representation of a mosque with a mausoleum, two priest figures and other symbolic motifs; all around Arabic inscription " sîdî abdal'az[îz] bin al-hajj (سيدي عبد العزيز الحاج)"; inscription by the Horse: jâd [probably: jawwâd); the portrayal of the man is reminiscent of dervish / sheikh depictions from the Persian culture; probably English / Indian influence, very rare and in good condition; Dimensions: approx. 180 x 142 cm
