Dan mask with female character in the style of a Deangle mask (Liberia), mid-20th century; carved from wood; the jaw is decorated with red fabric, six iron bells with traces of rust and small fabric pads behind; the mask has the typical wide and forward arched forehead; her eyes are narrow and slit; the character is soft and gracefully designed; the head has an oval shape and a mouth with full lips; the mouth is slightly open to expose 4 teeth (animal teeth? ); on the forehead a fabric pad with feather remains; on the side two wide fabric ribbons are attached; a great decorative object; traces of use according to age; dimensions: approx. 26 x 15 cm
