Old Kalpa Sutra "Of the Good Kalpa" (Bhadra Kalpa - kalpasūtra); first half of the 20th century; 10 double-sided leaves; on the front pages figural illustrations to the left and right of the scriptures (see photos); Sutras are short Buddhist texts or verses and contain the Buddha's teachings (Dharma, Sanskrit: धर्मसूत्र dharmasūtra);
These Kalpa texts date back to 500 BC and are generally considered a manual of Hindu religious customs;
not complete; the paper is similar to a thin cardboard paper and slightly brownish; partly wavy and slightly creased at the edges; the leaves are printed in black; traces of use corresponding to the age (see photos); dimensions: approx. 11 x 53 cm; inspected by the Institute for South Asian, Tibetan and Buddhist Studies | University of Vienna.
